Course Number5013030COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students who have varying levels of experience on orchestral string instruments explore high-quality literature written and/or arranged for string orchestra. Rehearsals focus on the development of instrumental techniques and skills, critical listening and aural skills, music literacy, ensemble skills, and aesthetic musical awareness. Public performances may serve as a culmination of specific instructional goals. Students may be required to attend and/or participate in rehearsals and performances outside the school day to support, extend, and assess learning in the classroom. This course may require students to obtain a musical instrument (e.g., borrow, rent, purchase) from an outside source.
