Students will be able to:

  • sing a one octave major scale using solfège with hand symbols (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do), given do.
    • major scale
    • solfège: syllables and hand signs
  • play major arpeggios, and sing using solfège syllables.
    • major arpeggio
  • echo simple rhythms and stepwise melodies given the first note.
  • decipher (sound out) three-note traditional melodies by ear, given the first note, and translate them to “do, re, and mi” syllables.
