  • describe the roles and importance of musicians and composers in various settings and cultures.
  • discuss historical events relevant to a time period.

  • explain how a composer influenced a specific time period or genre of music, e.g., Beethoven-symphony, Strauss-waltz, Sousa-march, Tchaikovsky-ballet.
